Flip the Curve: Student Achievement vs. School Budgets

Bill Gates is right about the importance of teachers in the future success of students. More resources on more, better, inspiring and dedicated teachers would produce better educated future workers in the labor market and students entering colleges. The same hold for aspirations and achievements of students around the globe. Therefore, Gates Foubdation should support similar efforts in other countries where the Foundation has been supporting health and education. Higher growth and bigger markets outside the US will increase demand for American education, products and services. In other words, increase in high school and college education support in other countries will help American economy and society in a fast globalizing world thanks to IT including the role played by Microsoft, Intel, the Internet, etc. Bill Gates has a well placed priority on quality teachers in the United States. He should express the same need for the global student which I am sure he agrees with as a global citizen.
